A Mother’s Vow(els)
I recently got this from a mum group and thought it was perfect for all those mums that might be going Back to Work soon.
In these times this might mean you’d still be working from home but it still means you’d be coming to the end of your maternity leave and are about to start a new role in life with even more things to juggle.
Here’s a Mother’s Vow(els):
A - Attention - It’s not quantity time, it’s quality time. It’s being attentive and mindful.e
E - Empathy - It’s about connecting with your baby when you are physically present so that he holds you in his mind when you’re not there
I - Intuition - Smile when everybody, including your hairdresser, offers you advice but trust your maternal intuition
O - ‘Over’ - There will be days when you will feel overwhelmed, overanxious, overly tired. Be kind to yourself on those days knowing that you will find your balance (as that’s how science works)
U - Underestimate - Do not underestimate your mothering skills - remind yourself that your baby doesn’t need a perfect mum, he needs a Good Enough Mother. ‘
